The mural of Spring is a fresco which was decorated the southern, western and northern wall of the room D2 in Group D of the prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri, forming a whole that reached to the floor. The fourth wall of the room had a double door and window. It is the only painting of Akrotiri found throughout the place.It celebrates the arrival of spring and probably the place in which was found, it was a sacred place, something supported by the fact that out of it, to the east, were found utensils of holy significance.

In Spring fresco depicted the rocky landscape of Strongyle (Santorini), before Minoan eruption. The rocks have unexpected shapes and presented in three colors: yellow, red and blue, which is considered to indicate a volcanic origin.
On the peaks and slopes of the mountains were painted red or ajar blooming lilies with golden stalks and stamens. Lilies grow in threes. It is thought that the lilies are the variety Lilium Chalcedonicum (red lily), which is common in Greece, especially in the Aegean islands. However, there is also the view that the lilies are Pancratium Maritimum L. (sea lily), which are still growing in Santorini summers. The lilies of this variety are white, but considered that the painter gave the red to stand out against the white background.
Strains of lily depicted bent on top of the rocks due to wind and in the slopes due to the influence of gravity.
In heaven flirting two pairs of the total of seven swallows Hirundo Rustica mural: two swallows flirting on the north wall, two on the west, as a flying towards them, while the southern two fly in the opposite direction. Of the pair of the west wall, a swallow flying normally, and the other upside down. Although it is generally accepted that the two pairs of swallows flirt, which is consistent with the style and theme of the mural has been suggested that male swallows is fighting for domination.
In the upper part of the room there is a shelf. In the northern wall there is little communication port to another space. The upper part of the walls are bright red.
